Core Science Coursework

The Controlled Assessed Coursework counts for 25% of the GCSE Science grade.
There are two tasks - the Case Study and the Data Analysis.

Each task is marked out of 32. Pupils may complete more than one Case Study or more than one Data Analysis. The final coursework mark is the total of the best Case Study mark and the best Data Analysis mark.

Additional Science Coursework

The Controlled Assessed Coursework counts for 25% of the GCSE Additional Science grade.
The exam board sets three tasks each year relating to the Additional Science course. Candidates will be given one or more tasks to complete.

Each task is marked out of 64. If you complete more than one practical task, the final coursework mark is the highest of the total marks.

Physics Coursework

The Controlled Assessed Coursework counts for 25% of the GCSE Physics grade.
There are two chances to carry out the coursework: one will relate to material covered in chapter 7; the other will relate to one of the other chapters.

Each task is marked out of 64. If you complete both of the practical tasks, the final coursework mark is the higher of the two totals.
